Overview

A little room to play with balance. Finding Balance turns a cast of illustrated characters into a hands-on yoga pose game. Drag the hands, feet and body to match twelve reference poses, with gentle hints and no timer. Switch to Free play to invent your own shapes and resize the grid around them. The characters hold the positions you give them.

How I Built It

  1. Turn an illustration into an interaction

Started with a grid of characters inspired by Space Type Generator's Box Squad. Developed an original cast and direct posing controls, so visitors can explore each figure with a mouse, touch or keyboard.

  2. Find the right character

Refined the bodies through hands-on feedback: connected shoulders, joined trousers, larger faces, circular hands and feet tucked behind the cuffs. A restrained teal, grey and white palette keeps the focus on the silhouettes.

  3. Give the play a purpose

Added twelve pose challenges, reference figures, optional target guides and forgiving snapping. Checked progression, responsive layouts and keyboard controls, while keeping a separate Free play mode for open-ended experimentation.
