It’s a brilliant concept. The owner of the shop with the help of her daughter has designed a funky sleepwear range for girls. It’s such cool stuff that girls will never want to change out of her pajamas.

Situated in Asia, this online shop could serve young people in the entire area. This part of the globe wears its nightwear any time and to anywhere. Changing that from old fashioned pajamas to modern young fashion could end up being quite a new Asian trend.

eCommerce is growing with shoppers going online in droves. Younger shoppers especially are happy to use their mobile phones. It could be that online stores will replace many of the shops as we know them. The death of the shopping malls perhaps?

It’s definitely Web 2.0. It might even be Web 3.0. But Deal Trove, a new client for team Yeah Can, has a great business model for trading on the internet. A business partner uploads a great deal and shoppers get to win big time. And they needed a new web site user interface design. We loved the project.

For all those smaller or even bigger businesses who don’t want to spend a large sum of money on their own shopping site this is a great idea. Determine a product you can afford to give a good discount on and upload it onto Deal Trove. In one smart move you have a shopping site without all of the hassle.

Deal Trove takes care of all of the money side. And that’s actually a big issue. Paying online and receiving money is not without it’s big fees. Never mind that one has to jump through hoops to get a bank to process the payments.

For the small or medium sized business this is a great way of putting their toe into the online selling water. After all would you want to set up shop on the internet and face the possibility that absolutely nobody pitches up to buy? Not likely. This is a super way to try it out without spending any money. And you face the possibility of many sales.

This puts off a lot of business folk who might have a great product that lends itself to online promotion in that they don’t want to risk the cost of setting up an online store without knowing whether their product will sell. Deal Trove takes the guess work out of it. They make the traffic happen through the site to ensure traders have customers and they take up the burden of all of the payment processes.

All you have to do is ship. Couldn’t be easier. Deal Trove is certainly onto a great service to both businesses wanting to find a further sales outlet as well as customers looking for a good deal. After all, in these hard times, who doesn’t want a good deal? Try Deal Trove yourself to see how great it is.

It’s mobile

ComScore’s latest annual look at what the digital world is up to has one overriding prognosis. You better get into mobile friendly mode. This is not only for retail but is of course of particular interest to companies or individuals trying to sell any type of goods and services online.

Here are some telling statistics:

* 75% of US mobile phone owners have smart phones. Of these 53% are Android, 42% are on iOS and 5% use other mobile operation systems

* Consumption of digital content by US consumers on smartphones is up 394% over the last 4 years. Interestingly mobile devices are not taking away from desktop online time, consumers are adding on to their time spent online because they can with mobile devices

* 75% of internet users go online via multiple devices

* 12% of users only use mobile devices to use the internet

* smartphone search grew 17% and on tablets 28%

* 52% of all digital time whether web, apps, desktop, tablet, smartphone and even wearable is spent within a mobile app

Get the full White Paper here.

Reflecting on online sales in 2014

Another interesting study added to these findings. Demandware analysed 100 million shoppers worldwide. They found that in the fourth quarter of 2014, 47% of online retail traffic and 33% of online retail orders came from smartphones and tablets.

That means almost half of the searches to e-commence sites were made via mobile devices and mobile gadgets accounted for a third of purchases. Demandware further expect these figures to move more and more in favour of mobile devices. It could even be that 2015 could see smartphones becoming the primary traffic driver and that smartphones and tablets could account for 40% of orders.

Is your website ready for mobile devices

The golden days of saying you could lose business if your website is not responsive are over. So does sticking your head in the sand and hoping mobile devices will go away. In fact it’s changed to – you will lose money! Perhaps there are some businesses that can afford to lose customers and money. Do you know of any?
