Yeah Can’s team was invited to participate at Hope Center’s Creative Workshop on Saturday. And it was wonderful fun to join the disabled and disadvantaged people for a get your hands dirty fabric painting morning.

Iiris Jalkanen has been a Hue Help volunteer working at Hope Center since December 2010. She has been working with the handicraft artisans to develop new products. In particular her skills in sewing are most welcome by all at Hope Center.

As part of her placement and in line with what her University’s requirements are of her stay in Hue, Central Vietnam, she has developed a course for staff and workers at the Center. Every Saturday for six weeks the team at Hope Center will take part in a Creative Thinking workshop.

The Hope Center is Yeah Can’s social responsibility project. This means that events such as these are great opportunities to have fun together and to get to know each other better. In any case it is always a great pleasure being at the Hope Center as the people are so welcoming and friendly.

And the fun that everybody had will ensure that the Yeah Can team will be back the next Saturday. This time it’s going to be making wrapping paper and small boxes for the Center’s products. It will be both a creative and very useful session. The Hope Center needs pretty paper and boxes for its handicraft products especially the jewellery items.

London Fight Factory

A web design project for a martial arts enterprise ended up being great fun to work on and resulted in a visual feast of a site. Web design with images. A designer in heaven. It’s all about people and this site shows that London Fight Factory is all about people challenging themselves. At the same time it’s also about people being enveloped by a community that cares about each member.

The images, video material and copy that the club provided for the website design and build supports the fact that this is a great place to go to. Friendly but still focused, proud of the achievements of its members and instructors and open to new members of whatever persuasion.

Members of the club are proud of their website. Yeah Can gets the most referral traffic from this fabulous website.

This lovely eCommerce web design site, one of Team Yeah Can’s first responsive web designs, could not have been possible without the amazing images provided by the client. It makes such a difference if a client provides great material to work with.

In line with the colouring of the beautiful steel drum products and the countryside where the photographs were taken the site became a smorgasbord of golden autumn shades and hues.

This is a successful small shop site that proves that accurate keywords, especially if in the domain name, can lead to relevant traffic and good sales.

Despite the fabulous eCommerce web design and clients loving the look, this one didn’t make it past the starters gate. Not every start-up is a winner. Gold stars to entrepreneurial clients for trying.

This eCommerce website was meant to serve pets and their humans with easy to find range of cost-effective pet services. Didn’t appeal to the market place even though we loved the idea and the fun approach. And we particularly love Patch. Don’t you?

Kate arrives at her wedding to Prince William

Team Yeah Can abandoned its computers on Friday and headed to the TV. Well, originally it had been thought to plug in the YouTube broadcast from laptop into projector for enjoyment on the big screen.

But there was no commentary on the YouTube Royal Wedding channel, so there went that idea. Although one has to say that the commentary was its normal hilarious self! That is, commentators desperately trying to fill in the gaps with nonsense. Having said that, it makes the whole broadcast even more fun. Alone the gushing whoever who exploded about the gorgeous dress was worth sticking to the small screen for.

It must be said that team Yeah Can was totally divided as to whether THE dress was worthy of the occasion. Surely it wasn’t over the top enough? Oh but wait, an understated elegance could also work. No not at all. After all where was the ‘statement’ that had to be made. The debate raged on. We at Yeah Can are sure we could have done a better job with the outfit. Most definitely.

During the celebration of all things bizarre in terms of hats and funny in terms of the outfits of the British viewers the Huda beer had to be ordered. Yeah Can gets its liquid refreshments from a Karaoke place ten meters away. But the Royal Wedding was so important that an SMS was dispatched ordering fresh supplies and cigarettes. And yip, they were delivered. On the back of a kid’s tricycle. Never say the Vietnamese are not resourceful.

A wonderfully fun and relaxing late afternoon and evening was had by all. Great to have some good news and cheer on the box for a change rather than nuclear fall out and Japanese disasters. Being in Asia it does show up more on TV than in other parts of the world. Not to belittle the extent of disaster the Japanese neighbours have suffered, but it’s great to have something fun to watch for a change. Thanks William and Catherine. You did well.

When Yeah Can opened its doors at the end of January 2011 one thing that they never thought they would end up doing was interior design/decoration. This design studio was focused on working in logo, web and graphic design. Interior design. Naah.

Well, it goes to show one should never presume. Because interior design it is at the moment. Having the Hope Center as a pro bona client has meant an adjustment in the thinking of what design is all about.

Not only is team Yeah Can designing the CI, printed material and web presence but the involvement with Hope Center is much more. Street signs were designed. Then input into the uniforms, help with handicraft product design and now the interior design of the new shop.

The retail space was a wreck. To put it mildly. First the floor had to be dug up and new concrete laid. The original idea was to polish the concrete floor, but the expense would need to be delayed.

Then the walls were cleaned and all the holes filled in. And as a further idea team Yeah Can suggested some bamboo for the ceiling and the two side walls. For the main wall a photo collage is planned showing the Hope Center artisans and seamstresses working, pictures of products and celebrations of life.

An eCommerce web design with a difference. Have you been lucky enough to visit Asia? Then you know about Bubble Tea. That delicious, somewhat strange to non-Asian taste buds squishy, refreshing drink. This dating site targeting Asian young people took its name and branding from that ever so social pastime of bubble tea drinking.

Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao – Online Casino

Famous Filipino boxing champion Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao lends his name to this gambling site called Live Gambler. Yeah Can was commissioned to deliver the interface and usability design elements of this online casino site.  Included in the brief were the design of the home page and inner pages only. Yeah Can did not build this site.

One of the instructions provided by client was to lend some sparkle to the design of this online casino site after all gambling has long been associated with flashing lights, buzzing tinkling machines and ‘sparkle’. Online players will have that little bit of sparkle as they try their luck with this online casino.

Team Yeah Can certainly has no lack of variety in its design work!

Learn Like Lerato is a South African company specialising in providing educational material to schools. Yeah Can picked up on the already well established branding and incorporated the fun graphics into the web design.  The site appeals to both educators, parents as well as students.

Yeah Can has several years experience in the field of web design for education having worked on major learning resource sites in the past. This particular site will incorporate an online shop in the future and all shopping pages have been designed. The design of the online shop component of Learn Like Lerato will reflect the fun brand of the organisation and will be a valuable part of the entire site.
